Delivery example #019

Hello, I'm Kanauchi, a staff member at Sleep Shop.

This time, we will introduce a case where two unused dotera (robe coveralls) and four zabuton cushions were re-stuffed into one single-size futon mattress.
This is a rare delivery example of a dotera being re-stitched. I hope you will read to the end.

Regarding the dotera and zabuton cushions we have entrusted to you

The state of dotera

The dotera we received this time were two of the same size, one red and one black.
It looked like it could still be used and was in good condition. It was stuffed with cotton and had a nice weight to it.

It was my first time seeing a dotera in person, and honestly I had no idea what its structure was, but I tried cutting off the part containing the cotton, feeling the feel of it with my hands.

The cotton inside was in good condition, but the texture seemed to contain a lot of synthetic fibers.
Both garments were made from similar cotton and were easily able to be re-stuffed.

Condition of the cushion

The cushions we received were four meisen size.
It looked quite flat, and I got the impression that it was a cushion that had been used a lot and was filled with memories.

When I looked at the filling, it was just as I had expected, compressed and flat. It also had little moisture and was quite dry.

The cotton was not in good condition, but it was possible to re-stuff it.

Features of this remake

We can also re-stuff non-cotton futons

At Sleep Shop, we accept orders for re-stuffing even for non-cotton futons whenever possible.

There are not many futon stores that handle items other than futons because it takes time to dismantle them. However, it is a waste to just throw away these resources that can be used.

Therefore, at Sleep Shop, we strive to respond as much as possible to requests like this one, which large companies find difficult to handle.

Please feel free to contact us even if you are wondering, "Is it okay to ask you to do this?"
There may be something that only a sleep specialist can help with.

What is the finished product?

About the finish

Two dotera and four zabuton cushions were transformed into a single-size futon.
There is nothing particularly strange about the look or feel of it, and unless you were told, you would not know that it was a cotton futon made by re-stuffing two dotera sheets and four zabuton cushions.

The cotton in the cushion, which was so flat, has been re-stuffed and transformed into soft, fluffy cotton, making it a comfortable cotton futon to use.

summary

This time, we introduced a delivery example where an unused "dotera" was re-stuffed and transformed into a new futon mattress.

Many people may think that "re-stuffing" means going from futon to futon, but we hope that through this delivery example, Nemuriya can also re-stuff cotton products other than futons, such as dotera and zabuton cushions .

If you have any cotton products at home that you feel would be a shame to throw away but have no other use for, we recommend that you consider having them re-stuffed.

Instead of wasting usable cotton, why not put it to good use and make useful items for your daily life?
