[Delivery example] Re-stuffing a regular-sized cotton futon into a long-sized futon

Traditional cotton futon: 1 set of comforter and sheet → 1 set of comforter and sheet

2025 Mr. E, Yamagata Prefecture [Order at store]
Delivery example #022

Hello, I'm Kanauchi, a staff member at Sleep Shop.

This time, we will introduce a case where a single-size comforter and sheet set was re-stitched into a single-size comforter and sheet set . The main feature of this delivery example is that a 200cm long futon was re-stitched to a length of 210cm for both the comforter and sheet set. Did you know that Nemuriya also offers the option of "210cm" and "230cm" for taller people? When Nemuriya re-stitches, it is possible to change the size like this. If you are thinking about having your futon re-stitched, please read until the end.

Regarding the cotton futon we received

Condition of the quilt

The comforter we received this time was single size (150 x 200 cm).

Since it's a comforter, I thought the cotton would contain a lot of synthetic fibers, but it also had a good amount of natural cotton in it.
Many cotton comforters use cotton that contains a lot of synthetic fibers because they want to emphasize lightness and volume.
However, when we looked closely at the duvet we received this time, we found cotton shells in various places, indicating that it contained a fair amount of natural cotton.

There was little dirt or impurities, and the cotton was in good condition, making it perfectly suitable for re-weaving.

Condition of the mattress

The futon we received was single size (100 x 200 cm).

I'm not sure if it was purchased at a store or not, but the cotton was the same quality as the comforter.
Like the duvet, the cotton was in good condition and could easily be refilled.

Another characteristic of the futon we received was that there were no stitching threads. It is unclear whether they broke while in use or whether they were never there in the first place.

Features of this remake

Long size cotton quilt

The length of the futon we received was about 200cm, but we tailored both the comforter and the mattress to be a long size of 210cm.

I often hear tall people complain that their feet stick out from under the futon.

If you sleep on a mattress that is not the right size for your body, you will end up curling up or tucking in, which will make your sleep uncomfortable. Choosing the right size for your body is very important for a comfortable sleep.

For those people, we offer the following options at Sleep Shop:

・Long size (210cm): +1,100 yen ・Extra long size: (230cm): +3,300 yen

In addition, we can also accommodate special orders for sizes over 230cm, which are not available on the online shop. Please feel free to contact us by email, LINE, or phone.

What is the finished product?

About the finish of the quilt

The comforter we made this time is made using uneven cotton fabric in the colors "People of Edo, Navy Blue" and "Plain, Golden Yellow."

Ms. E actually came to our store and chose this fabric combination in person.

The combination of the deep navy blue and golden yellow goes really well together, resulting in a stylish and calming comforter.

The lining is made of white fabric.

About the finish of the mattress

The futon mattress, like the comforter, is made of uneven cotton fabric in the two colors "People of Edo Navy Blue" and "Plain Golden Yellow."

By using the same fabric as the comforter, the cotton comforter has a unified look.

The uneven cotton fabric has a soft feel and excellent breathability, making this a cotton futon that is not only functional but also looks great.

summary

This time, we introduced an example of re-stuffing a long-sized cotton futon using uneven cotton fabric.

Recently, we have seen an increase in customers requesting cotton futons made with uneven cotton fabric.
The "uneven thread cotton" fabric has a design that is a little different from other cotton duvets, and it has a different suppleness and feel to it than satin.
We are very happy that more and more people are taking an interest in this new type of cotton futon.

Because the futons we received contained a large amount of cotton, we had about 1.2 kg left over.
In accordance with Mr. E's wishes, our store collected the remaining cotton free of charge.
The collected cotton will be carefully reused as recycled cotton.
It will then move to another location and become a part of supporting someone else's life.
