[Delivery example] Re-stuffing two quilts into one set

Traditional cotton futon: 2 quilts → 1 quilt set

2025 Mr. K, Yamagata Prefecture [Order at store]
Delivery example #023

Hello, I'm Kanauchi, a staff member at Sleep Shop.

This time, we will introduce a case where two single-sized comforters were re-stuffed into one single-sized comforter and mattress set .

The special feature of this delivery example is that it was "turned from two comforters into one set of comforter and mattress."
Usually, when re-stuffing a futon, it is common to re-stuff it into the same type of futon, such as a futon mattress to a futon mattress or a comforter to a comforter.

However, our store is flexible and can even accommodate requests to re-stuff a different type of futon, as in this case.

We will introduce the details, so if you are considering re-casting, please read to the end.

Regarding the cotton futon we received

Condition of the quilt

The two comforters we received this time were single size (150 x 210 cm).

Upon checking the condition, we found that the filling was made with a large amount of synthetic fibers, but it still felt heavy. Single-size comforters from Nemuriya usually have a filling weight of about 3.5 kg. However, the comforter we received this time seemed to be even heavier than that.

The condition of the filling was very good with very few impurities or dirt, and it was possible to easily refill it.

Features of this remake

Re-stuffing the comforter → mattress

As mentioned at the beginning, this is an example of a futon being re-stuffed from a comforter to a mattress.

"Can you change a comforter into a mattress?"
Some of you may have questions like this.

The conclusion is, "Yes, it is possible."
However, there is not enough cotton, so more cotton will be needed.
Please note that it is difficult to determine how many kilograms of additional cotton will be required at the time you contact us, and we will be able to make a decision after receiving your futon and weighing it.

[Cost for refill cotton]
Price: ¥1,100 per 1 kg (tax included)

In this case, the amount of additional cotton required is shown below in " Contents and cost of re-stuffing ."

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have, such as "Can you re-cast this?" or "Other stores have refused to do this..."
We will do our best to make suggestions that meet your needs.

What is the finished product?

About the finish of the quilt

By re-stuffing the duvet, it has regained its heat-retaining properties and fluffiness.
The length is a long 210cm, so there is plenty of room for your feet and you can wear it comfortably.

About the finish of the mattress

We made a mattress using the batting that was used in the comforter, and it looks completely natural. The extra cotton used to replenish the amount of cotton was natural cotton, not synthetic fibers such as polyester. This resulted in a batting that is slightly more absorbent and breathable.

This one is also 210cm long, so you can rest comfortably and comfortably.
