[Delivery example] Wedding futon that was difficult to store

From duvet to light blanket

2024 Mr. G, Yamagata Prefecture [Order at store]
Delivery example #006

Hello everyone, this is Kanauchi Kaito from Sleep Shop. Today, I would like to introduce a case where a wedding futon given by a parent was re-stuffed into a light blanket. The futon was a gift from a loved one, and the owner wanted to throw it away, but couldn't. By re-stuffing the futon into a light blanket that can be used for naps or for different seasons, we were able to transform it into a more comfortable and versatile item. I will tell you the details, so please read to the end.

The value of wedding futons and the need for re-stuffing

A wedding futon is a special futon given by parents at the time of marriage, and is a symbol of family ties and blessings. For that reason, it is normal to want to treasure it and use it even after many years have passed. However, if you continue to use a futon or store it unused for a long time, it will inevitably get dirty or deteriorate. Also, as lifestyles have changed and sleeping under a feather futon has become mainstream, cotton futons are rarely used.

Seasonal changes and how to use a light blanket

In recent years, the four seasons have become more distinct, and it has become necessary to use different futons depending on the temperature. Therefore, instead of re-stuffing the comforters into the same comforters, we decided to re-stuff them into more user-friendly lighter comforters.

About the items we store

Condition of the quilt

It was in very good condition with no tears or stains. The most distinctive feature is the plaster on the collar.

Many comforters have a high percentage of synthetic fibers in the filling to reduce weight. This comforter was no different, with a low percentage of cotton and a high percentage of synthetic fibers. This made it voluminous, soft, and light.

The role of the betchin on the wedding futon

A distinctive feature of wedding futons is the betchin applied to the collar. This betchin makes the futon look more luxurious and helps it retain its shape even after long use.

Finished product and finish

Once the futon was re-stuffed, it looked and functioned like a new futon. The light red and blue light blue patterned futon added a refreshing color to the room, providing a visually pleasing atmosphere. The re-attached betchin added elegance to the entire futon and ensured its durability for long-term use .

It is also extremely comfortable to use as a skin blanket. It is light yet provides moderate warmth, so it will help you sleep comfortably according to the season. It can also handle the subtle temperature changes of spring and autumn, so it can be used comfortably all year round.
