Hello everyone, this is Kanauchi Kaito from Sleep Shop. This time, I will introduce a case where we re-stuffed a wedding futon that the customer had wanted to throw away but couldn't.

The wedding futon that's hard to throw away
The customer's cotton futon was a wedding futon given to him by his parents about 30 years ago. He used it mainly as a guest futon, but since he didn't use it every day, it was taking up space in the closet and he had trouble storing it. As it was an important gift from his parents, he felt it would be a shame to just throw it away, so he decided to have it re-stuffed and turn it into something he could use on a daily basis.
About the items we store
Condition of the wedding quilt
The cotton futon we received was a single-size comforter and mattress. It was about 30 years old, but it was mainly for guests, so it had been used very few times and had hardly any deterioration. The filling was also in good condition with almost no dirt or impurities, but the cotton had been crushed and had lost its volume.

Finished product and finish
An unused cotton futon has been transformed into a bed pad and a light blanket that can be used all year round. The beautiful violet color is simple yet impactful. At the customer's request, the seams of the bed pad were made with the same plain fabric as the lining, which made a nice accent. Both the bed pad and the light blanket are made of uneven yarn fabric, so they are supple and comfortable to the touch.
